How I long for that ominous weather where all the sea-wolves have gathered together how long has it been? I can't remember since I seen the fog Those clouds roll over me like a blanket & I can't see through it I won't try to change it Mystery escapes me in the vapors of the words that I speak The leaves on the ground cold leaves on cold ground leave me with Eucalyptus smile Can't you see that it's light as a feather but it keeps getting heavier & heavier How far can I send my tender loving heart to you? Those clouds roll over me like a blanket & I can't see through it I won't try to change it Mystery escapes me in the vapors of the words that I speak The leaves in the air curved leaves in curved air leave me with Eucalyptus smile Eucalyptus smile

about

I've been living in and out of my van for about 3 years now. When I park to sleep at night, occasionally I'm woken up in the middle of the night by the sound of two knocks on my window.

Wherever I am in the country, it's always this sound. Two tight knocks. No more, no less.

For the first few years sleeping in the van, I'd hear this sound. Among van-dwellers it's often referred to as "The Knock" and it means someone, usually a cop or a security guard, is trying to let you know you need to leave.

But for me, every single time, I woke up to this sound and found no one.

Except once.

I was parked in the woods around Lake Tahoe when I woke up to the sound of two knocks. This time, I saw a silhouette of someone standing outside my window, standing stiff as a statue but gently and slightly rocking back and forth. It watched me for some time while I struggled to find my keys in the dark. Then, at some point vanished without a sound.

This was the last time I heard the two knocks.
